Austin Studios

Austin, Texas

This $6 million renovation and upgrade to Austin Studios transformed former aircraft hangars into A-class sound stages. The site, located on a 20-acre portion of the former Robert Mueller airport, sits over a closed municipal solid waste landfill. The project included improved traffic circulation and emergency vehicle access, accessibility improvements, drainage mitigation, and replacement of 500 feet of aging sewer infrastructure and 1,200 feet of new water lines to serve as fire protection for the site.

noteworthy.

Due to the closed landfill, the utility improvements complied with Texas Administrative Code Chapter 330 requiring double wall installation of water lines.

The design coordinated with adjacent private and public projects and incorporated plans for future expansion of the Mueller development.
